Jarrod has extensive experience in all aspects of the Thoroughbred industry including horse breaking, breeding, pre training and training. He believes that a key ingredient to racing success is to treat each horse as an individual and his training techniques are tailored accordingly.A strong focus is being hands on with each of his horsesJarrod’s lifelong experience in the racing and thoroughbred industry was rewarded with immediate success. Established in 2011, Austin Racing achieved a city metropolitan double – which included a Listed win – in its first season, along with numerous city winners.With this approach Jarrod’s strike rate since obtaining his own trainer’s licence atWarwick Farm in June 2011 is outstanding with 7 city winners in his first season, and a city double! His success has continued to escalate, continuously building year-on-year.Austin Racing has continued to ‘punch above its weight’, with several stakes results since from a small number of runners, most recently Looks Like Elvis, who ran 3rd in the Group 3 Shannon Stakes and ran a great 5th in the Group 1 Epsom.The stable currently includes several Saturday class runners working through the grades and is looking forward to welcoming several well-bred two-year-old’s beginning their preparations.
