We are excited to share some great news for our business and an important step in elevating our service to our clients.

As part of our continued growth, we have created a new position within the business, that of “Racing Manager”. This role has been introduced to strengthen our operation and ensure our clients are provided with quality support and information.

We are pleased to announce Aleesha Austin will be joining Austin Racing as our new “Racing Manager” commencing as of 1st March 2026.

In this role Aleesha will handle communications, including with owners and clients, and begin managing media, updates, the website and so on. You will see her at events on behalf of the stable including sales, trials, race day etc. Please feel free to reach out and say hello if you see her around.

This new position will help us improve service, support and communications to all our clients.

Four-year-old gelding ROTHO BRO made it two on the trot with another impressive 1400m win at Orange on 6 January.

Partnering again with Louise Day, Rotho Bro jumped well from a wide gate and was eased back to settle near the back of the field. Louise hooked him out at the 400m mark and while having to come very wide on the turn, put in a devastating sprint to scoop up the field and win by over a length. It was almost a carbon copy of his previous win!

His breeder, Jim Critchley was joined by several of his other owners to cheer him on. Congratulations to all!

Lightly raced 4yo Rotho Bro brought up his second win in just nine starts when taking out a 1400m Class 1 event at Orange on Monday.

Starting equal favourite, Rotho Bro dropped well behind the field on settling and looked out of the picture, only tacking on at about the 500 metre point. He then commenced a huge run on the turn, sweeping down the middle of the track for jockey Louise Day to win by 1 and a half lengths, to the amazement of the race caller!

An exciting win! Congratulations to connections, which include his breeder, Jim Critchley.

While showing plenty of promise in his previous seven starts including city form, it was very pleasing to have the big five year old get the monkey off his back with a well deserved win.
Simply Nutbush settled well in third position over the 1400m metre trip at Canberra and once straightening, angled out sharply for Shaun Guymer to get around the heels of the two abreast leaders to go on to beat the favourite by 0.8 lengths going away.

At just her fourth start for the Austin stable, Baycat brought up her second win for new connections, taking out a 1000 metre dash at Orange. Ridden by apprentice Olivia Chambers, she sat third on the fence for most of the trip, and when others behind her made their runs, she held her position and took a gap to fight out the finish with the favourite, Missile Defence, scoring by a nose.
