Tried horse purchase BAYCAT showed she was a canny buy when wining first-up for Austin Racing Stables at Canberra on 19 September.
The four-year-old daughter of Blue Point (Ire) shot to the lead on jumping over the 1000m trip and was never headed, easing down to win by 1.25 lengths.
She looks to be set to provide a very enjoyable experience for her ownership group!

Five year old Pariah gelding CASH ME brought up his fifth career win when scoring at Hawkesbury on Sunday. Showing a healthy dislike for wet tracks, all his wins have been on the Good, which has been hard to find in his last few starts! The Good 4 and 1500m was right up his alley. Given 61kg by the handicapper, apprentice Olivia Chambers took 2 kilos off his back.
Sitting on the rail just behind the leaders, Cash Me slipped inside the leaders and pulled away in the long Hawkesbury straight to win by three quarters of a length.
Congratulations to his big ownership group!

CASH ME Claims the Prize

A nice win at Cowra on 5 July gave her owner / breeder Jim Critchley another winner in the Austin Racing stable. Given the huge impost of 63kg, engaging apprentice Jessica Brookes took 2 kilos off the little mare&rsquo;s back.
Bowling forward from the 1100m start, she sat one out one back, commencing her run at the top of the straight to score by just under half a length on the Heavy track.
Congratulations Jim!

DAME ANNIE Victorious at Cowra

Bonny grey mare Elegant Empress followed up two creditable runs in the city this campaign with an assertive win at Newcastle on 14 June.
She was caught three wide for the trip in the small field of seven, but once Jess Taylor pushed the &lsquo;go&rsquo; button in the straight, she sprinted away to win by a length over the 900 metre trip.
Elegant Empress has now had 19 starts for four wins and a further six placings for $122,725, all over 900 to 1000 metres. This win was on a Heavy 8, with her other wins being on Good and Soft, demonstrating her adaptability to any surface.
Congratulations to her ten strong ownership group!

ELEGANT EMPRESS Scores at Newcastle

Having just his second career start, 3 year old gelding Rotho Bro faced the starter at Mudgee after an encouraging first-up third at Goulburn on debut.
He jumped well before jockey Jeff Penza settled him third on the rail over the 1100 metre trip. Once they turned into the straight, he zipped up the rail and drew away for an impressive 3.2 length win.
Rotho Bro was bred by good client James Critchley, who remains in the ownership.

This athletic and beautifully balanced filly is by the leading sire&nbsp;Russian Revolution, &lsquo;Snitzel&rsquo;s fastest son&rsquo;. He&rsquo;s a multiple Group 1 Winner of the Oakleigh Plate &amp; Galaxy, and a champion 1st &amp; 2nd Season Sire.
She was purchased with a plan to target and race as a 2YO.&nbsp;
Russian Revolution has thrown multiple 2YO winners, and the mare has also proven to throw 2YO types, which bolsters our confidence of having a 2YO performer next season.&nbsp; Jarrod's comment: "This filly really stole our attention. Great walk. Great attitude. Really balanced filly."

Ownership Opportunities

Four year old mare SUPER ZIPPI brought up her second win in just eight career starts when she took out a 1000 metre dash at Orange on 22 November. Weighted at 62.5kg, Jarrod Austin took advantage of apprentice Olivia Dalton's 3 kilo claim, with Super Zippi consequently starting as the $3 favourite. She jumped smartly from barrier 5 and sat outside the leader, fending off all comers in the straight to win comfortably by 1.7 lengths. It was a popular win for her 16-strong ownership group!

SUPER ZIPPI is Just That!

20 Sept: On the back of her scintillating win in the Listed Mona Lisa Stakes two weeks previously, Terra Mater showed her typical tenacity and will to win with another impressive victory in the prestigious Group 3 Tibbie Stakes at Newcastle. With her regular jockey Nash Rawiller in the saddle, Terra Mater jumped brilliantly from gate 2. Allowing Overriding to take the lead, she took a sit behind her and then popped off Overriding's heels on the turn. Showing her great turn of foot, Terra Mater surged ahead to take the race by 0.64 lengths. The five-year-old mare now takes her earnings to $647,750 for her dozen happy owners. Pic: Bradley Photos.

TERRA MATER Takes the Group 3 Tibbie Stakes

Hermosa Rosa scored her second win from 11 starts on Saturday 8 September, when downing her rivals at Orange over 1000 metres.
The lightly raced five year old raced midfield up until the turn, making her move once the cutaway rail came into play. Jockey Ellen Hennessy pushed the mare out to win comfortably by 1.43 lengths.
Both her wins have been at Orange, proving that neither she nor her trainer Jarrod minds a long trip to win a race!

HERMOSA ROSA Wins at Orange

Dame Annie showed up at just her second career start with a strong win at Gundagai on Sunday 9 September.
Jumping to the front from the start, jockey Ellen Hennessy dictated the pace over the 1180m&nbsp; race and once they turned into the straight she continued to extend her lead.
Easing up at the post, Dame Annie won by a shade under 5 lengths from her nearest rival, the race favourite Master Artist.
Congratulations to owner and breeder, Jim Critchley, who was on-course to watch! Her win brought up three winners for Jarrod within a week.
